The level of employment

     In the beginning of 2001 there was 9,1 thousand people of employment age in Palanga. This makes 51,4% of permanent population number (in Klaipeda district it makes 45,9%, in Lithuania it makes 45,4%). On January 1, 2002 in Palanga labour market there were 1457 unemployed, on April 1, 2002 there were 1518. Unemployment level on January 1, 2002 was 15,8%, on April 1, 2002 it was 16,7%.
