Population

In the beginning of 2001 Palanga had 19,6 thousand inhabitants (this makes 4,9% of Klaipeda district and 0,53% of total Lithuanian population) 17,7 thousand of which are permanent citizens. 9,6 thousand are women and 8,1 thousand are men. Average density is 247,7 people in one square kilometer.
